Oh What a Night! The Aesthetics Awards 2019

The 7th December 2019 was the date of the Aesthetic Awards at the very swish Park Plaza in London. I’ve never attended these awards before but I had a great reason to be there this year; I was lucky enough to have been shortlisted as Aesthetic Nurse Practitioner of the Year. For me this is a massive achievement. As a small practice in Beverley I was totally surprised to be selected and sooooo incredibly excited to be listed alongside some incredible nurses.
The lead up to the awards was a hectic few months, over the last year there has been massive growth and development at East Riding Aesthetics and all of this was happening alongside needing to find a dress, bag, shoes, buy tickets, book accommodation and many busy clinics.
I was absolutely delighted that my good friend and fellow Aesthetics Nurse, Caron, from Beauty Lines Aesthetics, wanted to attend the event with me and made the whole occasion so much more fun as I was able to share it with a friend.
On the day of the awards, I took the train to London, meeting Caron on the train, where we had a good catch up and then navigated our way through London to the Park Plaza hotel. It was fabulous to see all the London Christmas lights! A trip to the Hairdresser (can totally recommend Arena Hair if you’re in Central London) and we were not too far off being ready.
The event started with a drinks reception (love a bit of fizz!) before we were directed downstairs to the dining room where we were served a beautiful meal provided entertainment by the fabulous Tom Allen and the awards were presented. It was wonderful to see so many people from the industry all celebrating together (over 700) and to catch up with some amazing aesthetic professionals although sadly there were many I didn’t manage to spot on the night. I am so pleased for all the winners, I wasn’t one of them this time, but just to have been there and to have been shortlisted was such a thrill and a blessing.
We had a wonderful night full of fun and celebration and I am so grateful to have celebrated everyone’s wins with a wonderful friend.
The Aesthetics Awards are a big deal within the industry, to be nominated, shortlisted and to attend has been a fabulous experience, maybe we’ll go back next year!
